In pooja, also known as puja, is a representation of worship that involves offering prayers as well as sacred objects to deities. It is essential that pooja items such as a diya (lamp), incense sticks, flowers, a bell, and a pooja thali (a plate that holds smaller items) be included in the ritual. It is believed that the use of these items is used to create a sacred atmosphere and to symbolise devotion, purity, and enlightenment.
